North High School #2 1896-1913

Due to rapidly increasing enrollment it was found that the old Logan School was going to be inadequate,  therefore construction of a new building,  one block West, at 17th St, N. between Girard and Fremont Avenues was begun in 1895.

The “new” second North High building  opened its doors on September 29, 1896 to students grades eight through twelve.  This new school had thirteen class rooms, eight recitation rooms, an assembly hall that seated 900, a library, laboratories, shops, and drawing rooms.
