North High School was founded in 1888 and opened in January of 1889.
Did you know? Alexus Olson, class of 1891, was the first president of the Minneapolis North High Alumni Association. “The first commencement at North Side high school, was held Wednesday evening, June 10, 1891. At the close of the graduation exercises the sixteen members of the pioneer class were no longer students of North High but constituted the entire body of Alumni of the new educational institution.” The first meeting of the Alumni was held in Miss Sterret’s room at the school on Friday June 12, 1891 at 2:00 P.M.
Little would they know that over a century later their ideas and spirit continues through the dedication of graduates from the past who love North High.
Each year in June we elect alumni to serve in the positions of the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Alumni must be present at the meeting to vote.

Lynne Crockett
President
Lynne Crockett is in her fourth term as Alumni President. She has been actively involved In the community for the past 50 years. To date, 7 grandchildren have graduated from North; and, she currently has two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter enrolled as Proud Polars. She believes we should always give back to the community that nurtured us.

Anthony Ware
Vice President
Anthony Ware is a returning (2015) Co-Vice President of the Minneapolis North High School Alumni Committee. Anthony earned his Paralegal degree from Globe University. Anthony also earned his American Bar Association approved Paralegal Certificate from North Hennepin County Community College. Anthony was a Minneapolis North High School Graduation coach in 2015. Anthony is a current member of the Hennepin County Extension Committee, Anthony is also a current member of the University of Minnesota Civic Engagement and Community Leadership Program (ULAA 7)

Carol Olson
Treasurer
Carol Olson is in her second term as Treasurer. Carol has since retired as an IT Support Technician from the Minneapolis Public Schools. She continues to support the school and work with the Northside. In addition to her responsibilities as treasurer she also works on the Minneapolis North Community High Alumni Association website.
